Identity should be something we're proud of - but are the qualities of identity what makes us unique or what connects us?
Humans have become masters at harnessing that energy, so much so that the underlying necessity for it seems archaic to even think about.
Harnessing that energy has allowed us to travel, which converged cultures, which allowed us to innovate at an exponential rate - so much so that we’re actually selling tickets to Mars.
As our different worlds coaleced and access/exposure to “everything” became the norm, people became focused on defining not just their own, but also everyone else’s identity. In the 1950’s, psychologist Erik Erikson changed the way the common world uses the word “identity”. Prior to the 50’s, the definition of “identity” meant “the same” - think of lingering phrases like, “I identify with…” or “They are identical”.
These days, identity means something along the lines of “characteristics and uniqueness an individual embodies or is proud of” - viewing the self with more unique “difference” rather than unifying “similarity”. Strangely enough, the more you think about your “identity”, the more difficult it becomes to really know if you’re differentiating yourself or associating yourself - and whether one way is right and the other way is wrong. Social scientists are having a similar struggle with this so-called “identity crisis”, in that many have not made peace with the new-age individualistic/categorical way of defining the word. In a way, it is eerily similar to how society redefined “race” to categorize skin tone instead of its former use to determine tribe, territory, or culture.
At Dripology we strive to bring back the focus of our lives onto improving our relationship with our most basic core necessity - light and the energy it provides. Health and wellness are really just new words to describe the body's relationship with, it’s struggles with, and it’s prolonged exposure to, the energy of light. Dripology addresses innovative ways of delivering nutrients for functional energy processing. We even infuse NAD+ to help with reversing radiation damage to DNA from exposure to the sun. We help our clients endure the human experience - from nights of drinking, too much junk food, stress from work or illness, pressure and insecurities of society, etc. The world is an imperfect struggle between the similar and the different, but Dripology is utilizing the beneficial advancements in bio-technology and biomechanics that have come along the way to make the most of our experiences.
Identity is certainly something we should all be proud of - whether it’s how you’re the same or how you’re unique. Regardless of how you define it, humanity is deserving of dignity, honor, and respect - because at the end of the day, a rainbow is just another way to see the same light we’re all reaching for.
